After a bit of a helter-skelter first half to the season, with a few teething problems getting things settled and the uncertainty of a few fixtures here and there, it appears we finally got things sorted and on track for a few weeks. With games coming in thick and fast and everyone arranging on the chat, not to mention the new website, it seemed very optimistic for the season ahead.
However, the mid-point of the season seems to have left a few more questions than answers both on and off the pitch. With a recent drop-out in Leicester City and the arrival of both the PS5 and FIFA 21, the league looks to have come across its first real stumbling block. It will be up to all managers too much in for the next couple of months for the league's very survival!
At the top
On the pitch, things couldn't be any more exciting for all the right reasons. West Ham currently top the table in what many people consider to be a very unexpected turn of events. Arguably even more unlikely is the fact that lowly Burnley are the team to second them.
Finishing off the top four things start to make a bit more sense as both Tottenham and Liverpool are nipping at the heels of the league leaders and possess a game in hand. After 10 games we could very well see 1 point separating 4 teams. Watford closes the gap also on 22 points but have had that extra game from the top teams.
Chelsea could still yet make a big push having only played 8 games so far this season, winning those extra games in hand could see them catapult to the top of the table with 26.
In the middle
The mid-table looks just as exciting as many teams still have that Champions league spot to contend for. Crystal Palace and Newcastle have a couple of games in hand and could still mount a late push for Europe's most coveted prize.
Rounding off
At the foot of the table, we also see a real battle on our hands. While Man City seemingly have a hand firmly grasped around the wooden spoon, they still have plenty of opportunity to pull themselves off the floor with Southampton on the same amount of points and Wolves 3 points ahead with a game extra played.
Manchester United and Everton have also taken part.
Indeed, if the second half of the season features as many twists and turns as the first then we are in for a wild ride heading into the home straight.
With the league seemingly splitting into two for Season 2, this is the first and only opportunity until Season 3 that all teams and managers can make a real name for themselves, lets hope unlike Arsenal and Leicester it's for the right reasons!
